Tales of Ancient Dragons – Part 1
In Norse mythology, Níðhöggr (Malice Striker, in Old Norse traditionally also spelled Níðhǫggr [ˈniːðˌhɔɡːz̠], often anglicized Nidhogg) is a dragon who gnaws at a root of the world tree, Yggdrasil. – Wiki
“It’s time to unleash the Dragons. Humanity is ready” a council of 12 galactic great ones spoke in their booming voices, echoing through the vast halls of eternity. They bowed to me, to the Earth, to humanity. Then one dove forth from its celestial abode down into me. From above, so below.
So here we are, and thus where to begin?
From the bottom, within the roots at the foundation of the Norse Tree of Life, Yggdrasil there rests the dragon known as “Níðhöggr” or Nidhogg. What myths I’ve come across in my research is that this dragon sits, eternally woven within and gnawing at the roots of the Tree of Life until a majikal squirrel, another close ally of mine, Ratatoskr, stirs him to agitation where he then shakes the Tree of Life and rises to engage with the great Eagle at the top of the Tree of Life. Here, in a simplified description, Nidhogg (The Dragon) symbolizes are untapped power here in the roots, encoded as our subconscious, our primal life force, and the fire of our desires. It is stirred through Ratatorkr, the messenger of mind, thought, connection, and integration. The great Dragon arises to engage with the great Eagle, which is awareness, spirit, the unmanifest. These two massive forces collide activating the sequence known as Ragnarök, which on the surface details the great ending of all things. To me, this signifies the sequence of great power for us to change our reality. To shift the currents of experience as we awaken in alignment with these forces within us. Here the Dragon inmates the changes, the majik within us to alchemize what has been into a new life, new potentials, new experiences.
This encoded myth map stirs within us one remembrance of the original codex of power.
Thus begins Dragon Tantra.
